P17X offers an enriching and challenging curriculum in visual arts, music, dance and theater, provided by a collaborative team of skilled arts professionals.

Our arts team leads the way, along with contributions from all teachers, to integrate the arts across the content areas. Strong relationships with outstanding arts organizations complete this dynamic framework through residency programs.

All curriculum is developed in alignment with the NYC DOE’s Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts, the Common Core Standards and Danielson's Framework for Teaching.

Every arts experience bolsters early language and literacy acquisition, helping our students’ ability to read, write, listen and speak, which in turn will help them to be confident, social and successful in all areas.
